HID Headlight Kits are Essential For Road Safety

The High Intensity Discharge (HID) light is one of the most revolutionary discoveries in illumination in the recent past. The HID headlight kit uses the principle of a sustained discharge between two electrodes of tungsten inside a fused tube of quartz and a medium of Xenon or similar noble gas to give a light that is as bright as lightning. There is no filament involved and therefore the average HID bulb can last for as long as ten years or 3000 hours of use. But, where the HID kit really scores lies in the fact that the HID bulbs inside the kit gives a color temperature of between 4300k and 6000k where daylight has a color temperature of 4300k. This is significant since the standard halogen bulbs we have been using till now have a color temperature of only around 2300k. It is therefore evident that motorists need to use the HID kit rather than the halogen kit being used so far.

There are several other advantages of the HID kit over the halogen kit. Not only is the illumination of the HID bulb three times more powerful compared to the halogen bulb but the current consumed is also 35% less. The HID bulb does not have any filament and therefore on an average it may last for up to ten years or 3000 hours of use. These are much higher compared to the figures in respect of halogen bulbs.

There is a HID headlight kit for all kinds of cars and their models. You can find out the bulb you need by checking up the bulb guide. The HID kit comes with a warranty that can be for a year, two years or for a lifetime as well. The HID kits are easy to install and although there is a video available to help you in the process, normally you will find the installation instructions that accompany the HID package adequate for the task.
